The new Suuns video is probably what blockchain looks like IRL

“Make It Real” is the latest track from the Montreal experimental rock group’s upcoming album Felt.

February 15, 2018

Once Canada's foremost krautrock revivalists, Suuns have since developed into a band with its own intriguing testimony. "Make It Real," a song from the Montreal group's upcoming fourth album Felt, is a swooning, stargazing track: electronics wink and flutter like Silver Apples on a downer against spacious and tumbling drums, an entrancing repetition that singer/guitarist Ben Shemie weaves into his affecting vocal performance. "Hey you all get the feeling / I feel it everyday, it's the same, same" he sighs, bolstering the song's tension that hints at an impending and massive transformation.

The track's gorgeous video, premiering today on The FADER, is directed by Sabrina Ratté. She explained her process in an email: "When I first listened to 'Make it Real,' I immediately visualized pop and colourful imageries. I revisited Superstudio and Archigram's utopian architecture, which became my main inspiration for this video. This project was also the opportunity to experiment further with some of my personal techniques where I map photographs (or in this case video of the band) onto 3D structures. I've worked with Suuns on a previous music video about 5 years ago, and did many visuals for them in live settings."
