Taraji P. Henson set for Emmett Till biopic
Directed by Boys N The Hood director John Singleton.
Taraji P. Henson has signed on to produce and star in an Emmett Till biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Henson, who starred in Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures in 2016, will play Till's mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, in the movie based on the teenager's racially motivated torture and murder in Mississippi in 1955. John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood, Snowfall) is attached to direct.
Speaking to Global Grind about the project, Henson said: "I've been passionate about [the movie] since Trayvon Martin was murdered."
Henson's latest movie, Proud Mary, is in cinemas now.
