Listen to Lafawndah’s unreal remixes of Kelela, Kelsey Lu, and more
The French artist shares her HONEY COLONY mixtape.
Warp Records' pop experimentalist Lafawndah is sharing a surprise new mixtape today exclusively on The FADER. An urgent and immersive listen, HONEY COLONY puts her uniquely idiosyncratic spin on recent tracks from recent FADER cover star Kelela, London newcomer Klein, Brooklyn singer/cellist Kelsey Lu, and Parisian artist Bonnie Banane. The reimagined songs retain the artists' original vocals starkly in the foreground, but Lafawndah shows her knack for storytelling through curation and production, as she pulls the very different songs into orbit with one another via an underbelly of dramatic percussion and swirling melodies.
Listen below, and find out where you can catch Lafawndah live on Kelela's Take Me Apart tour.
