Trae Tha Truth Is Rescuing Flood Victims In Houston
The rapper told a local news station he had been rescued the previous day.
Trae Tha Truth is helping local rescue efforts in his hometown of Houston, as Hurricane Harvey continues to flood the Texas city. The rapper joined a group of volunteers who are boating across the flooded streets, recovering people from their residences as rain continues to pour.
As Trae revealed to local TV station FOX 26 on Tuesday, he had been forced to evacuate his house the day before. "I felt helpless yesterday when I had to be rescued, so I know that feeling," he responded when asked why he decided to volunteer.
Trae echoed Bun B's call on Monday for local volunteers with access to a boat or truck, and encouraged donations of baby supplies to Houston shelters.
The FADER has reached out for comment. Trae Tha Truth released his latest album Tha Truth Part 3 in June. Watch excerpts of the interview below.
