Living Legend Linda Perhacs Is Back With “Eclipse Of All Love”
The 74-year-old folk singer (and dental technician) has a new album called I’m A Harmony.
If you're not familiar with Linda Perhacs, she's a folk singer who released one gorgeous album in 1970, went back to her life as a dental technician, and then was rediscovered and released another masterpiece in 2014. Looks like she's on a roll, because she's putting out another one. Called I'm A Harmony, it comes out this September and features collaborations with Julia Holter, Devendra Banhart, Wilco's Nels Cline and Pat Sansone, and more.
Sansone's the guest on Perhacs's “Eclipse Of All Love,” premiering below. The song begins with Sansone's deep voice over staccato guitar picking, and then Perhacs's gentle vocals flow in. It's magical. Perhacs wrote in a note to The FADER that the track "expresses how dark life could be without the life-giving breath of love and light!” Listen below.
