Philly’s Fiery Rappers Kur And Eline The MC Endure The Struggle In Their Video “UPN”
A raw visual from the eager wordsmiths.
Impassioned Philadelphia rappers Kur and Eline The MC spit a picturesque tale of rising up through the hustle on their honest new track, "UPN." Named after the iconic broadcast network, it's a personal tale of resilience and surviving dysfunction, softened with a jazzy sample of Sade's "Bulletproof Love." Captured over scenes of desolate city streets, the two sit in small bedroom trading bars about life's ongoing battles and how much they've overcome.
"I remember watching UPN 'til I got sleepy, argue with my sister every night. We shared the TV," Kur told The FADER over email. " The sample was fire to me and I felt like I had to spit some pain on it."
"This track to me is a feel good record — reminiscing on old times, even if they weren’t the best times," Eline said about the song. "It's about cherishing those moments because they’ve made you who you are."
