Listen To Unreleased J Dilla Music On The The Soundtrack To Detroit Hip-Hop Doc The Unseen
All of the music from the film is streaming now.
Yesterday, February 7, marked what would have been the day the late J Dilla turned 43. MF Doom marked the occasion with a moment of silence on board a boat. The makers of a new documentary about the history of rap beat making in Detroit, meanwhile, shared the soundtrack to their documentary featuring a previously unheard Dilla production.
"G Rhodes" arrives in the middle of the soundtrack to The Unseen — A Detroit Mixtape and features Dilla on both production, and vocals under his Jay Dee alias. The soundtrack also features Dilla's "Ghetto Wish," which arrived online last week.
The Unseen — A Detroit Mixtape is made up of mid-'90s VHS tapes filmed by archivist Justin Kovar and compiled by director Gus Sutherland. Its soundtrack was arranged by Detroit producer Ta’Raach and features music from Quelle Chris, House Shoes, Nick Speed, and more. Check it out below and the stream the film now via LOVETURL.
