On Thursday night, an all-star cast of musicians, including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and Morris Day, assembled at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota to pay tribute to Prince. The show opened with a pre-recorded message from President Obama. "Thank you, Prince, for all the great works you have done. You will be in our hearts forever,” he said. Other performers included Doug E. Fresh, Bilal, Anita Baker, Tori Kelly, and Christina Aguilera. Tyka Nelson, Prince's sister, addressed the crowd assembled in St. Paul.
