Virgil Abloh Recruited Umbro For The OFF-WHITE S/S17 Collection

Lots of tartan with a sporty twist.

June 29, 2016

Virgil Abloh's Spring/Summer 2017 menswear show at Paris Fashion Week was doing the most in the best way possible. Not only did he release his first book at Colette, but Abloh also selected an hour-long rendition of Kanye's "Father Stretch My Hands" to usher his models down the runway. The S/S17 collection possessed an air of clean graphicness that is expected from OFF-WHITE, yet took a dip into sportswear by recruiting British football giant Umbro to collaborate.

The partnership offered plenty of double-branded apparel, featured on joggers, shorts, and punky tartan tops, however, the true standout was the collaborative sneaker. A classic Umbro silhouette, the "Coach," was reimagined with premium leather, additional stitching, and the OFF-WHITE logo on the heel, (shown below), for the collection. The sneaker is set to release with the rest of the S/S17 drop, but in the meantime, check out the full collection here
