Alicia Keys’s “In Common” Video Is A Midsummer Night’s Dream
“This video is about celebrating our individuality, and how in the brilliance of our uniqueness, the magic of it all is at the core, we are all the same.”
This new video for Alicia Keys's "In Common"—the airy first single off The FADER issue number seven cover star's forthcoming album, is midsummer night dreamy. Shot in black-and-white, it finds a glowing Keys draped over a fire escape, watching while a troupe of dancers tangle their dewy limbs in the streets below.
"This video is about celebrating our individuality, and how in the brilliance of our uniqueness, the magic of it all is at the core, we are all the same," she told The FADER. "We want the same things. We all want to experience love, the freedom to be our truest selves, to love whomever we want and to be accepted and celebrated for all of our nuances and so called imperfections that make us, us."
If you can love somebody like me, you must be messed up too.
