Tunji Ige Releases “Road To Missed Calls” Documentary Video
Highlighting life on the road for a working artist.
Tour life can be weird. Glimpses of incredible cities for about five minutes before going to work at the show you're booked. You chat it up with people who pretend to be your friend, but really just want an interview. You catch flights. You're backstage. You miss deadlines. And in between it all, you make time for new music.
Philadelphia rapper and producer Tunji Ige just dropped the seven track Missed Calls project yesterday, and today released "Road To Missed Calls," a 12-minute documentary that looks into the life of an artist on the road. It's an incredibly insightful and telling vantage point of an artist who's at that page turning part of their career, and can go in either direction. For Tunji Ige, the Nigerian Philadelphian, the importance of carving out your place in an industry nobody is very sure of is very apparent in this doc, all while trying to keep going, keeping moving and working. This is an important watch for working artists, to see what that next level is and what it takes to truly "make it," whatever that means.
