Hudson Mohawke Claims Kanye West And Drake Owe Him For Beats
Update: The producer has clarified that his beef is not with Kanye, but with lawyers.
Hudson Mohawke is the latest musician to use Twitter as a place to air his grievances. In a since deleted tweet captured by Pitchfork, the producer wrote, "literally about to to release a zip of Kanye and Drake songs I've done that I got 0 for."
But he decided against it: "I love yous too much to put myself into a huge legal battle for no reason n prevent me releasing my own music." He thanked his friends and family for advising him to not to leak the material, and took a parting shot at unspecified MCs (and moms), noting "mainstream rappers have less business sense than ur mum."
Mohawke is credited in several places on the The Life Of Pablo. He worked on the beat for Drake's "Connect," which appeared on Nothing Was The Same.
Representatives for Kanye, Drake, and Hudson Mohawke were not immediately available for comment.
Update 3/15/15, 4:40 p.m.: Hudson Mohawke clarifies.
Hudson Mohawke has added further context to the tweet he sent out (and, subsequently, deleted) on Monday morning accusing Kanye West and Drake alleged delinquency on payments owed to him.
"[No,] this is no shots at Kanye it's shots at lawyers who weren't in the room on their side," wrote the producer on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. "Only stated few facts," he added, "wanting to be paid for other ppl taking $£ for my work."
