Watch N.Y. Rapper Talent Harris' Charming Video For "Nine Two Five"
“This song is about living out my dreams.”
Hailing from Long Island, N.Y., Talent Harris reveals himself as a promising new, er, talent in the video for his new single, “Nine Two Five" from his third upcoming mixtape, The Birth of The Cool Again. The chilled MC is quite the conversationalist as he nonchalantly raps about the daily struggle of working a 9-to-5 while pursuing his real dreams—rhyming.
In the video, random city-goers are asked about their own 9-to-5 and how they feel about their job—there's a lot of 😒. Harris chips in too with own life story before performing in Union Square in his work clothes with his hat out for tips—strong competition for the other street artists. But by the end of video he ends up in the studio recording his single.
"This song is about living out my dreams," Harris told The FADER via email. "I came up with the hook when I was working at a former job as a cashier at ShopRite. I was just there thinking about how I wouldn't be ok doing 'this' every day of my life. I wanna be able to get paid to do what I love, make music. I wanna be able to love my job. In the video we asked people what their occupation was and to give the facial expression your job inspired. I just wanna smile everyday."
In-Tune Ent. will release The Birth of The Cool Again this spring.
