Watch The Video For Adele’s Heart-Swelling New Song “Hello”
From the new album, 25.
Last night, Adele premiered the first single from her long-awaited third album 25 on Beats 1. "Hello" is peak Adele; taking place years after the turmoil of 21 (as Adele wrote in a note on Twitter recently, "[it's] a make-up record...25 is about getting to know who I've become"), it features her calling up an ex to talk things through, with softly treading verses running into a storming, bittersweet chorus.
Following the track's unveiling on radio, Adele has now also shared the video, a sepia-tinted love story that's haunted by a layer of talking, laughing, and crying that drifts underneath the track like the memories that still bug you after years have gone by. The visual—directed by Xavier Dolan (who also directed Mommy) and featuring an appearance from The Wire actor Tristan Wilds—has got pretty much everything you'd want from a romantic epic, including tears on the phone, yelling in the rain, and a whole lot of wind. Watch it above.
XL Recordings will release 25 on November 20th.
