Kanye Reportedly Wants To Make An Album With Young Thug
Thug: “He said I was like Bob Marley.”
In a new cover story for Rolling Out, Young Thug spoke about his relationship with Kanye West. “[Kanye] called me Bob Marley,” Thug said. “We [were] backstage at one of the [Rodeo] tour dates at the Staples Center in L.A. and Kanye was backstage. He had a Beats Pill and was like, ‘I wanna hear all of your music in the world that’s not out.’” This is a perfect Kanye-ism, wildly ambitious and enthusiastic: Young Thug seems to record at least one song a day, if not more.
Naturally Thug played Kanye his tracks. “Then he said I was like Bob Marley,” Thug continued, “and he wanted to do an album with me. I was like, ‘Let’s roll!’ He’s a fan… fans are the main reason you stay motivated and become who you want to be.” Especially if those fans are named Kanye West. (It also came out recently that Kanye wanted to do an album with Drake; he's in a collaborative place.)
Thug added that “Kanye is like my brother,” and that “he bought me some Yeezys… on eBay.” Read FADER’s Young Thug cover story, and find out why everyone should leave the rapper alone. This new also gives you a good excuse to re-watch Kanye dancing his face off to "Danny Glover."
