Listen To “I Be Up,” A Hard-Hitting Kap G Track

Kap G connected with Nechie for “I Be Up,” a weighty number built around a simple piano loop and clattering percussion. The MC has shown pop instincts in the past—“La Policia” makes a political point with a honeyed hook—but this is a stark song full of sharp, staccato rapping. In addition to his new music, Kap G appears alongside A$AP Rocky and Vince Staples in Dope, which hits theaters this Friday.
