Sean Henry is a New York-based songwriter who makes gnarled, melodic guitar pop. His first studio album, Fink, comes out next month on Double Double Whammy. Album cut "Imperfection" is "a pretty song about feeling defective but being OK with it," Sean Henry explained over email.

On the track, which is debuting below, Sean Henry pairs grungy imagery — broken TV screens, fire, the year 1995 — with spidery guitars and an eerily whimsical synth. The overall effect is pleasant, if a little unsettling — a vibe that's intensified by his nasally tone and a few layers of dissonance.

"It's the first track of the new album, as well as the first song written and recorded for it," he explained. A fitting introduction to his warped, sing-song universe if there ever was one. Check it out below.
