A few weeks ago, we wrote about two Raleigh, North Carolina rappers you should be paying attention to — one of them being Tanna Da Demon. The 19-year-old rapper, formerly of Raleigh rap group BBO, has stepped out on her own, and is showing promise with only a handful of solo tracks under her belt. Premiering today on The FADER is the video for her newest track “Demons,” which features Tanna rapping about racking up wins and proving others wrong in the face of her demons. In the video, her long purple hair bounces with her as she tells you exactly what she’s in this for. “I do this for the money and I do this for the show / I do this for the haters who don’t want to see me glow.”

Over email, Tanna shared that the song and video are “inspired by one of my favorite songs by Lil Boosie called ‘Devils.’ I went to Atlanta to shoot the video. I just wanted it to have a real dark feel to go with the [song’s] title.” Watch the video for “Demons” above, and listen to more from the rapper on her Soundcloud.
