Last fall, Mackenzie Scott, who performs as Torres, released her sophomore album, Three Futures. The record was a slight sonic departure from her debut LP, and was the first of what Scott has referred to as a "3 album deal" for 4AD. Now, she says the famed indie label is dropping her from their roster due to “not being commercially successful enough.”

As of right now, Torres still appears on 4AD's online roster. Torres' very public announcement comes just weeks after former labelmate Grimes dissed the label in an Instagram post. The FADER has reached out to 4AD and Scott's representative for further comment.
