Watch Japan’s ice skating team dance to Ryuichi Sakamoto

The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full flow in PyeongChang, South Korea and the sight of seeing ice skaters dancing to music we love is becoming a theme. The Japanese team took things up a notch on Sunday, February 11, though when they hit the ice to the sound of experimental composer and producer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Skaters Kana Muramoto and Chris Reed performed their free dance routine to “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence," the instrumental title track to the 1983 film starring Sakamoto and David Bowie. You can watch the moment back above. Earlier in the competition French figure skater Maé-Bérénice Méité performed to Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)” during the ladies’ short program.
