Over the weekend, social media exploded when Trump took to Twitter to attack both the NFL players engaging in protest during the national anthem, and Stephen Curry, who said that he didn't want to make the customary visit to the White House for championship teams.

Shortly after Trump's tweets, LeBron James responded: "U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!"

At NBA media day on Monday, LeBron answered questions about the tweet, his opinions on the president, and the power of sports to unite.

"He used the sports platform to divide us. Sports is so amazing, what sports can do for everyone, no matter shape, size, race; brings people together like no other," he said. "I'm not going to let one individual no matter the power, the impact he or she should have ever use sport as a platform to divide us."
