The buildup to Mac DeMarco's new album This Old Dog, out May 5, continues today with the single "Another Love Song." It's the fourth single from the record, and follows the LP's title track, "My Old Man," and "On The Level." "One More Love Song" could be the smoothest and loveliest of the smooth and lovely sounds we've heard so far, thanks to sweeping piano chords on the hook that instantly elevate the starry synths and flickering guitar lines.
Pitchfork reports that a Mac Demarco fan fiction contest will run from June 1 to August 15. The musician's team is looking for "a fun, original piece about anything Mac related" from members of the Mac DeMarco fan club. The winner will receive "a drawing of himself/herself with Mac illustrated by one of Mac's favorite artists, Stefan Marx," plus a special mention in the Mac DeMarco fan club's zine, running at the end of 2017.
