Netflix premiered the first teaser for Death Note today. Based on the popular Japanese manga, the film follows high school student Light Turner (Nat Wolff) after he finds the titular mysterious book. He quickly learns that if he writes someone's name in the book, they will die.
Adam Wingard directed the film, which is already seeing some blowback for casting white leads.

The Death Note trailer is depressing... it's so TIRING to see white people cast as Asian characters/having Asian characters erased
